5 Ways To Make Your Instagram Stories More Engaging! | Beckie Coupe

Instagram Stories is a fantastic place to connect with your followers, build relationships and allow potential customers to get to know the person or people behind the business!

In fact, more than 500 million people are using Stories every day and business Stories are amongst the most-watched.

So how do you create fantastic Stories and use them to engage your crowd? Here are my 5 top tips to make your Stories super engaging…

1. Harness the power of Storytelling

One-off posts to your Story are fine but you can take things to the next level by asking yourself what next… After you’ve posted something to your story, take a moment to ask yourself what might come next. What else can you share that would make your Story more interesting and keep people watching?

2. Post throughout the day

Rather than sharing everything in one hit, consider spacing your Story posts throughout the day. Not only will you reach more people but you will also keep your biggest fans engaged. For example, if someone has already seen your morning posts they won’t see you pop up in their Stories feed again until you post something new. Many people check the app more than once a day and you can keep them engaged by posting throughout the day, rather than every 24 hours.

3. Start a conversation

Instagram Stories has lots of fab features that you can use to get your crowd talking. Consider using question stickers to encourage your followers to talk to you. For example, you can run a poll or even a quiz using Stickers.

4. Continue the conversation

Once you’ve started a conversation, think about how you can build on that, rather than letting it be just a one-off hit of engagement. For example, if you ran a poll you could then share the results and follow it up by talking about the key takeaways from those results.

5. Invite people to contact you directly

Lots of people still don’t realise that they can reply directly to a story by typing in the reply box at the bottom of the screen. If you want to hear your followers’ feedback then invite them to reply using that box. You will receive there replies in the form of Direct Messages, which is a great place to start up a conversation and build relationships.
